Today let’s talk about something really important – kids just like you who are facing a big problem with hunger in South Africa. 🍽️

Imagine trying to play, learn, or just have fun when your tummy is empty. Not easy, right? Unfortunately, about 23 out of every 100 kids in South Africa don’t have enough food to keep them strong and healthy.

**Why is this Happening? 🤔**

There are a few reasons why so many children are hungry. Some families don’t have enough money to buy healthy food because of poverty. It’s like when you want a toy, but you can’t buy it because you don’t have enough pocket money – only this time, it’s food, not toys.

**What Can We Do? 🌍**

The good news is there are clever people called “experts” who are working hard on solutions to make this better. Here are a few ideas they have:

1. **School Meals Program: 🥪**
One way is to give children free meals at school. This not only makes sure they have at least one full meal a day, but also helps them concentrate in class.

2. **Food Gardens: 🌱**
Communities are starting to plant gardens to grow fruits and vegetables. This way, families have fresh food right there!

3. **Food Banks: 🏦**
These are places where people can get food if they don’t have enough at home. It’s like a library, but instead of borrowing books, you borrow food!

**Let’s Make a Difference! 💪**

Now you might be thinking, “What can I do to help?” Well, a lot! You can talk to your family about donating food or money to organizations that help fight hunger. Every little bit helps! You can even organize a food drive at your school! 📚

**Spread the Word📣**

Tell your friends about this issue. The more people know about it, the more helpers we can recruit in the fight against hunger!

If you want to learn more, check out this article on Times Live [here](https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/south-africa/2025-04-01-23-of-sas-children-suffer-from-severe-hunger-experts-tested-solutions).

Together, we can help solve this problem so that no child goes to bed hungry.
