Imagine walking into your school cafeteria, and the shelves are bare, with no food left for breakfast, lunch, or snacks. That’s the reality for many Haitian children. 💔 Sadly, this situation has been going on for months.

The United Nations recently released a report stating that Haiti’s humanitarian crisis is one of the worst this year. 🌈 The reasons are complex: food prices have risen sharply, floods and landslides have destroyed farmland, and economic instability has led to many job losses. 🌪️ Without a steady income, families can’t afford the basic necessities, including food.

In Haiti, 45% of children suffer from stunting due to malnutrition, and in some areas, this number is as high as 50%. 🤯 Malnutrition can lead to long-term effects on a child’s health, education, and future opportunities. A problem like this should make us all cringe – for we know what it means for the future of Haiti, for the well-being of children.

Some people are working hard to help. The World Food Programme (WFP) has been providing food assistance to those in need, but the situation is dire, and more support is needed. Food and food assistance aren’t the only answers, though; there is a need for sustainable solutions that can give families a chance to secure their future.

What can we do about it?

• Share this article about Haiti with your friends and family to spread awareness.
• Donate to organizations like the WFP, which is supporting communities in need in Haiti, or other reputable aid agencies.
• Support organizations that provide economic stability programs, helping Haitians find work and create their own economic growth.
• Educate yourself about the complexities of global hunger and the steps governments and international organizations can take to address it.

Read the full report here: https://www.france24.com/en/americas/20250417-haiti-children-food-un

Please Donate now so we can help our children and elderly.
